Introduction to Powerapps

Powerapps has redefined building applications with its low code no code approach the business applications for both B2B and B2C scenarios.

Powerapps offer below services which can be build with low code no code approach:

• Model Driven App
• Canvas App
• Portal
• AI
• Power Automate(Flows)
• Chatbot
• Power BI

For the B2B scenarios we have two options:

• Model Driven App - The model driven is responsive by design and can be accessed from any device  without any extra efforts but the downside is it stores all its data in Dataverse and UI is not flashy
• Canvas App - The canvas app is not responsive by design but can connect to many different data source and can have flashy UI.

The Portal is more used for B2C scenarios where we can connect the data from Dataverse and allow options to perform CRUD operations. It can be used as self service, event, marketing for end users.

The flows is used to perform automation in any supported connectors like send email, create or update data, send reminders. This can be both scheduled at certain time as well as trigger instantly by some action.

We can also use AI for Form processing, data extraction without writing any code. This can be done by training the model and reusing the same in flow or Canvas App.

We can also configure chatbot and connect to flow to retrieve the data and display to end user with pre recorded message.

Last but not the least we can connect the Dataverse to Power BI for reporting and data visualization process.
